Carne Asada Tacos

Ingredients

CARNE ASADA

1.5 lbs Hat Brand Beef carne asada 

¼ cup lime juice

¼ cup orange juice

¼ cup soy sauce

3 Tbsp. olive oil

1 cup chopped cilantro

5 garlic cloves, minced

1 tsp. chili powder

1 tsp. salt

 

PICO DE GALLO

4 tomatoes, diced

½ onion, diced

½ cup cilantro, chopped

2 limes, juiced

½ tsp. Garlic salt

 

ROASTED GUACAMOLE SALSA

4 tomatillos

¼ onion

1 serrano pepper

2 garlic cloves

2 avocados

¼ bunch of cilantro

Juice of 2 lemons

¼ cup water

Salt and pepper to taste

 

Directions 

MAKE THE CARNE ASADA:

  1. Thinly slice the carne asada against the grain. Place in a covered bowl or large ziploc bag.

  2. Whisk all of the marinade ingredients together in a small bowl.

  3. Pour the marinade over the meat and refrigerate for at least 6 hours.

  4. When ready, heat pan to medium-high heat. Add the carne asada and cook until browned and cooked to desired doneness.

  5. Top with pico de gallo and roasted guacamole salsa. (Recipes below)

 

MAKE THE PICO DE GALLO:

  1. In a small bowl, combine all of the ingredients.
  2. Stir to combine. For best results, allow to refrigerate for at least 15 minutes.

 

MAKE THE ROASTED GUACAMOLE SALSA:

  1. Grill tomatillos, onion, pepper and garlic until nicely browned.

  2. Combine all of the ingredients into a blender and blend until smooth.
