Stuffed Bacon Cheeseburger Meatballs


1 lb Hat Brand ground beef

1/3 cup milk

1/8 tsp allspice

1/8 tsp pepper

1/4 tsp salt

2 Tbsp butter

1/2 cup diced mushrooms

1/4 cup finely chopped onion

6 slices bacon, cooked & crumbled

3/4 cup toasted bread, cubed


1. Combine beef, milk, allspice, salt, and pepper. Divide into 4 parts. Shape each part into 6" patties. 

2. In frying pan, melt butter. Add mushrooms and onions. Saute over medium heat 3-5 minute or until onions are tender. Remove from heat. Add bacon and bread crumbs and stir until well mixed.

3. Place 1/4 of the bacon mushroom mixture (about 1/4 cup) onto the center of each patty. Bring up the sides to seal. 

4. Place seam side down in baking dish. Bake at 350F for 45 minutes. Serve with cheese sauce. (recipe below)

Cheese Sauce

2 Tbsp butter

2 Tbsp flour

1 cup milk

3/4 cup shredded cheddar cheese

1/2 tsp dry mustard

dash cayenne pepper

Melt butter in a saucepan. Add flour and cook until bubbly, stirring constantly. Slowly pour in milk, stirring continuously. Cook until thickened and then 1 minute more. Blend in cheese, dry mustard, and cayenne pepper. Serve over meatballs.
