Salisbury Steak

Ingredients 

  • 2  lbs. Hat Brand ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 2 Tbsp. tomato paste
  • 2 Tbsp. yellow mustard
  • 2 Tbsp. worcestershire sauce
  • 1 tsp. Garlic powder
  • ½ cup breadcrumbs
  • 1 tsp. Ground black pepper
  • Kosher salt (to taste)

Directions

  1. Mix well in a large bowl. Shape meat mixture into 6 large patties (you can make smaller patties)
  2. Melt ¼ cup butter in a large skillet. Cook patties for 4-5 minutes on each side or until well browned. 
  3. Remove patties and set aside.

Gravy

  • 1 ½ onions, diced
  • 8 oz. mushrooms (optional), diced
  • 6 Tbsp. flour
  • 1 tsp. Dried thyme
  • 3 cups beef broth
  • 2 Tbsp. soy sauce

Directions

Add chopped onions and mushrooms to the skillet and reduce heat to medium-low. Cook for about 10 minutes. Sprinkle 6 tablespoons of flour over vegetables and stir to coat. Cook for another minute. Add thyme and cook until fragrant, about 30 seconds. Slowly stir in beef broth and soy sauce. Add patties back into skillet. Simmer covered, for 10-15 minutes. Add salt/pepper as needed.
